Fundraiser Testimonials

Here's what they have to say...

spca

“At the SPCA in Auckland our association with the Entertainment Books has provided two wonderful benefits; the first being the superb bargains our members and supporters receive from using the Book, the second being the amazing funds we have been able to raise for our continuing animal welfare work. This is a relationship that works for everyone, and we love it!”

“The money we raise each year through selling Entertainment Books helps Heart Children Canterbury to provide ongoing support, counselling and financial assistance to the families who are all affected by heart problems. Heart disease is the leading cause of death in young children in New Zealand with 450 children having open heart surgery every year. Entertainment Books are an easy fundraiser as they basically sell themselves and our supporters really look forward to purchasing their new Books each year.”

“CanTeen New Zealand has been selling Entertainment Books nationally over the last two years utilising our online shop as the main sales channel, and we’ve had great success. The Book really sells itself however we’ve found using the marketing materials that the Entertainment Publications team provides is a great resource to promote the Book through our communication channels. CanTeen receives no direct Government funding so we rely on our own fundraising efforts, therefore selling the Entertainment Book is a nice addition to our fundraising calendar as it’s so easy to implement. ”

“Hospice North Shore, as a Not-for-Profit organisation, relies on our community to help raise funds to provide professional medical and support services, free of charge to over 650 families a year on the North Shore living with a terminal illness. We have become the key outlet on the North Shore for our community to purchase all New Zealand issues of the Entertainment Book. They not only save themselves money, they also know they are supporting a very worthy charity. Entertainment Publications provide a great service, and continuously keep us up-to-date with new specials which we pass on to our supporters. We have been selling the Entertainment Books since 2002, and trust that we will be selling them for many years to come.”

“The Entertainment Book has proved to be an extremely beneficial fundraising tool for Ronald McDonald House® South Island, with our supporters recognising that they are not only helping the House, but also getting extremely good value for money. The support received from Entertainment Publications has proven to be invaluable in communicating the product, and creating an efficient online sales platform that has seen great success. The Entertainment Book has become a reliable fundraising venture for the House, ultimately helping to ensure that the doors to our ‘home away from home’ are always open.”

“We have had an exceptional year for sales with more than 500 Entertainment Memberships sold, raising more than $7,000. We believe the use of an insert in our newsletter to our supporters, the use of social media as a promotional tool, along with the option to buy a digital version have played important roles in this.  The addition of a digital version has provided a great option for those who have smartphones and has been well received by our supporters with 42% opting for these over hard copy books this year.”

“ This is the first year Wainuiomata Tennis Club has been involved in selling Entertainment Books for fundraising - and it was really successful. Although the book virtually sold itself, the support we received from Entertainment Publications team was fantastic. They provided us with many great marketing ideas and resources.  The online application is a great tool and this year with the promotion of the Digital Technology Application for phone users was awesome.”

“ This is the fourth year Westpac have used Entertainment Memberships to help raise funds for the Westpac Chopper Appeal. Every year our sales and funds raised have grown, and this year there has been a considerable increase with the introduction of Digital Memberships, and increased distribution throughout our branch networks.”

“Selling the Entertainment Book is so easy if you believe in the value of the Book, as we do. Our club has been selling this Book for 9 years now, and it generates valuable fundraising dollars. It is almost effortless, with the huge assistance and regular contact we get from our Account Manager, and the Entertainment Book team. Fundraising by this method is a no brainer from our perspective. I coordinate the delivery of Books, banking etc and have up to six members selling through the various departments of our Christchurch Engineering branch. This gives our Rugby Club extra funds for social activities, games away and host responsibilities for our home games. We know we are selling a fantastic product so we enjoy the whole process. I recommend this method of fundraising to any club or community group.”

“The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation has been offering Entertainment Books to our supporters as a fundraiser for 10 years now, and in that time they have generated almost $100,000 for the Foundation. The introduction of Digital Memberships, and the use of a mailing house for fulfilment of all orders of Books, have been great tools in minimising the workload required by the Foundation, but also in helping increase the sales and dollars raised each year. The team at Entertainment have always been friendly, helpful and willing to go the extra mile to support our campaign each year. The emails we send our supporters, and suggested posts for social media, are all provided by Entertainment which makes the fundraiser very simple to run, and a profitable addition to our fundraising calendar.”

“Social Clubs are an integral part of any organisation’s culture and welfare. Last year the Entertainment Books earned us $1,200 and it is still the fastest and easiest way we have found to fundraise. We have found that the Books sell themselves, and we hardly have to spend much time, or effort to promote them. We have an Entertainment Book web page on our internal intranet site that includes an online booking system for the Books, which we have found works well. It is also great to know that we have a personal Account Manager who thinks of absolutely everything, and supports our needs in every way. I would definitely recommend the Entertainment Book as a valuable option for any group wishing to fundraise.”

“The Muriwai Surf Lifesaving Club started selling Entertainment Books for the first time this year. It was a great fundraiser that was easily managed by one person in the club. The staff at Entertainment made the process of selling Books very easy and worry-free. I would recommend selling the Entertainment Books as a great way to fundraise for any community group.”

“Last year was the second year selling the Entertainment Book. My Account Manager took care of all the advertising material and administration, ensuring that selling the Book did not encroach on my work. To make things even easier, I set up my account as an ‘Adopt a Cause’. This means that at the end of a stress-free selling season, I receive commission cheque made out to my chosen charity (Hospice Waikato). I then get the pleasure of dropping off the cheque to my charity, knowing it will be greatly appreciated. Thank you to the team at Entertainment for helping me to support my chosen charity. I look forward to working with you this season.”

“Western Bay of Plenty District Council Social Club has been offering the Entertainment Book to staff since 2007. The money we raise goes towards subsidising our social events for staff, and we have watched our fundraising money increase every year as the Book becomes more popular. This is such a no-effort fundraiser, as our Account Manager supplies all the sales material, posters and display Books at no cost to us. We also get regular emails to send out to our staff, which generate more interest. People love to support our fundraising and purchase the Book, as it offers so many deals for everyone, every day of the year.”
